2015年9月8日，在华贸丽兹卡尔顿酒店的会议室里，张亚勤（百度总裁）在百度世界大会的分论坛上兴致勃勃地和在场嘉宾分享着百度互联网金融的发展。他反复强调：“百度作为互联网企业，应该利用技术、数据、流量等资源，来帮助金融业务发展。” 张亚勤在接受采访时表示：“通过百度独有的入口优势、大数据优势、技术优势，整合社会各行各业，将互联网与普通人的衣食住行紧密结合，将成为百度发展的新模式、新市场，以及新的增长点。百度金融事业部着力于拓展金融应用场景，一方面因为金融本身是个垂直行业，另一方面金融也是一个工具和杠杆，可以帮助撬动其他行业的发展。”此外，他还阐述了互联网金融产业本身属性是金融产业，提到金融产业，重要一点是风控。第二天，杨进（百度金融事业部总经理）回到上地科技园的百度大厦，坐在办公室里深刻地反思着总裁的讲话，如何把总裁的思想落到金融业务上？

2014年年底，百度已经在筹备全新的互联网金融业务，成立金融事业部，杨进担任了百度金融事业部总经理。百度金融诠释了新的互联网金融战略理念：发挥大数据优势、做连接者、从产品公司向平台公司转型。

Baidu Finance Department focuses on expanding financial application scenarios because, on the one hand, finance is a vertical industry and, on the other, finance is a tool and lever that can drive the development of other industries,” said Zhang Yaqin during the interview. Moreover, he also stated that Internet finance belongs to the finance industry and that an important point of finance industry is risk control. On the following day, Yang Jin, General Manager of Baidu Finance, returned to the Baidu Edifice in the Shangdi Science and Technology Park and pondered over the president’s words in the office: how to implement president’s idea in finance business?

In late 2014, Baidu had prepared for brand-new Internet finance services and set up the Finance Business Division headed by Yang Jin.
